The Pet Corrector emits a hiss of compressed gas which produces a broad spectrum sound to interrupt unwanted pet behavior. Use the Pet Corrector with reward-based training methods to redirect your pet's attention and reinforce better behavior.
Grab your dog's attention and interrupt unwanted behavior with the Pet Corrector! The Pet Corrector is a convenient canister of compressed air that emits a broad spectrum "hissing" noise when it's triggered. Dogs are genetically predisposed to respond to the hiss generated by the Corrector, as it resembles natural noises like snakes, angry birds, and insects. Best used with reward-based training and redirection, you can use the Pet Corrector to interrupt dog behaviors like barking, chasing, jumping, and food stealing, or cat behavior like counter surfing, inappropriate scratching, or ankle biting.
Directions for Use:
Read all instructions before using the Pet Corrector. Always operate at a distance greater than 1 meter (about 3 feet). Always direct the spray away from your pet’s face (not directly towards it). Never point the Pet Corrector directly towards your face or that of your pet.
Before using Pet Corrector regularly, test the animal’s sensitivity to the device. Do not continue to use the Pet Corrector if your pet has an excessively fearful reaction. While the Pet Corrector should gain your pet's attention, your pet should recover from its use almost immediately. Similarly, it should not produce an aggressive response.
Do not use Pet Corrector on young puppies unless specifically advised by a suitably qualified behavior specialist. Early positive training is the best way to resolve puppy training issues.
Timing is crucial. Pet Corrector should only be used while the misbehavior is occurring. Ensure that you reward immediately when the misbehavior has ceased, ideally while your pet is performing a positive alternative behavior.
Pet Corrector is best used to work on correcting one behavior at a time; e.g. jumping up. Once this has been corrected, if required, you can move on to targeting the next behavioral problem. Only use the Pet Corrector to interrupt specific and targeted misbehaviors: it is not a substitute for poor training!
Only use short bursts of the Pet Corrector. Canister will chill with prolonged use. Dispose of the aerosol can responsibly when it is empty. Do not incinerate, burn or puncture the canister. Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 122 degrees F, place in direct sunlight, or expose to flames.
